Blog #3–8/27/2022
A Peaceful Saturday
Visited with a worker at the transfer station.
Thanked him for the head of cabbage he left on our porch.
Talked about fishing and having a picnic at their camp along the river .
Would be a nice day trip for my Dad and I.
Was going to pick some yellow squash at a roadside stand in town.
Sign explained “free vegetables” because they want to help others.
Left them there for someone else.
My Dad and I went for a short drive to get zucchinis, squash, and cheese.
My dog and I walked after lunch.
The bees were feasting on the rotten apples on the ground.
Several large feathers were scattered on the ground.
I admired one that my dog sniffed.
Flowers holding onto the last of their fragrance.
Spending my later afternoon at the Soft Maple Campground.
The beach was closed to swimming because the lifeguards to school.
Wiggled my toes in the sandy beach.
Sat in my camping chair and soaked up the sunshine.
The warmth of the sun was much appreciated.
Wrote away for this blog on paper.
No internet connection.
Listened to the boats and jet skiis go by.
Think I spotted my son slowdown on his jet ski and look my way.
The water on the reservoir was smooth.
A small wave came in to the beach.
Water relaxes me.
Thankful for the day and all of God’s blessings.

Why Can I Not Sleep #2
I tried to take an afternoon nap, but rested.
Last night I did not fall asleep until 3 a.m.
Thinking of my son, starting his senior year in high school.
Happy thoughts of him playing football and hanging out with his friends playing golf. Spending time with his girlfriend.
Proud Mama looking through the photo album of his senior pictures.
Went on my morning walk in town with my dog.
Smiled seeing the apples in the tree on the church grounds.
Several patches of sunflowers and black-eyed Susan daisies lingering on in gardens.
Completed some chores–mopping, cleaning bathrooms and putting laundry away.
Grilled some cheeseburgers and air fried some fries for my Dad, son and I.
Making lunch our bigger meal for the day.
It is our time to talk about football practices, plans for the day, and be appreciative for good food and fellowship.
My plans for the rest of the day and evening–read, write, clean, call my mom, etc….
Keep it light. Pray I sleep more peacefully.

Summer Days
We have been getting a lot of rain this week.
Almost too much for my raised beds of tomatoes, peppers, brussel sprouts, dill, basil and marigolds.
My hanging flower baskets are dying off. Autumn is coming.
My dog and I walk in town after breakfast. We enjoy seeing the vibrant summer flowers. Greet others as we pass.
This afternoon I met a friend for ice cream. Sat outside the shop and visited with children and their parents. Joy.
Talked about school starting up soon. Children growing up fast.
Sitting on my front porch while writing my first blog. Listening to musicians perform, people chat and dancers move. It is our town’s craft and food street fair.
Tonight I will probably end my evening watching the news and “Wheel of Fortune” with my Dad. Then alone time to view some Netflix.
New day, new start tomorrow.
